Some Questions that have been
asked.
This list will be updated daily with new
questions.
Will there be police controlling
intersections; holding vehicle traffic while the cyclists go through?
Riders are to follow the rules of the road.
Even when there is Fire personnel at most of the major intersections,
We have motorcyclist that will be riding ahead and making sure that
you will go the correct way and to watch out for traffic.
Are there rest stops?
If so, how far apart are they?
We will have plenty of rest stops thru out the routes; they range
from 8 to 10 miles apart. They will have water, fruits and snacks for all
Is there SAG support; is there
people designated to patrol the routes to help stranded cyclists?
We will have 3 SAG support thru out the routes; we will also have a Tail unit
that will be at the end of the ride. All units will have radio communication,
along with cell phone. When you get your packet, you will get a phone number on
a label. This phone will be manned thru out the ride.
How will
the route me marked? We will have more workers at the
intersections along with color coded maps and it will be on
How can I find out more
information about this ride.

Register on line. The rest stops
were spaced out great. Good route.7/06/10 12:56 PM Roger wrote: My wife and I rode the 50 mile route last Saturday. I want to say a huge thank you to the man that risked his life at the hwy 4 crossing trying to stop a car who obviously was not going to stop. I could tell by your facial expression that it was not safe for us to cross and I am so thankful you got out of the way before the car cruised by. That really scared me worse than the accident I had with the dog a few miles back.
Thank you very much Sir.

I did the 100k route and it was GREAT!. thanks for marking the houses with dogs. I had my boat air horn with me and had a TON of fun with the dogs coming out THINKING they were going to chase me!!
Great rest stops! Great volunteers! I felt safe out there!I will be back next year! thanks for this awesome event. I can't see why this ride should not have thousands of riders if you guys stick with it.
thanks again! GREAT JOB GRANDVIEW!
Debra Wrote: Thanks for
hosting a great ride! I
rode the 25 mile ride
and then the 10 mile
ride. These routes are
clean and scenic, and
the tree-lined roads
provided shade for much
of the distance. You
might consider adding a
35 to 40 mile route and
a longer route (60 to
65+) to accommodate even
more riders next year.
The volunteers were
great, and the fresh
pineapple was a treat.
Had I met Deb Tribble, I
am sure we would have
been friends.
David wrote: I just want to Thank You guys for a Great ride & time. The
only thing I would add is some watermelon sure taste good on a hot day. Thanks
to all the people and volunteers very very much appreciated. I was the last one
in (flat tire) but ya'll never left my side. Tell Debbie's brother I really
appreciate him being their. I look forward to next year's ride. Great Job
Grandview & Happy 4th of July! God Bless America!
I
rode in your ride this
morning and wanted to
thank those that put it
on and provide some
feedback. The
registration was quick
and convenient, the ride
support/traffic control
was great and the rest
stop that I stopped at
was well stocked with
the appropriate supplies
(Gatorade, pickles,
etc.). Also, the course
was well marked and I
really appreciated those
markings warning of
upcoming dogs. I have
been chased and caught
by a dog before so I
really liked the
warning. All the people
I dealt with at
registration, traffic
directions, and the rest
stops were all very
friendly and pleasant.
I really had a great
time on the ride. If
you plan to hold this
ride again in the future
and you want a better
turnout you might want
to include a 100
Kilometer ride (62
miles). A lot of riders
won't come out for
anything less than a
100K as they can usually
make it through 50 miles
on their own without
having to refill water
bottles/camel backs. You
also might want to put
out signs on Hwy 81
directing people coming
to the ride on where to
turn for parking (I may
have turned early and
missed it if you did
have one). It would also
be nice if the P.A.
announcer would go over
the road marking colors
and tell which color
belongs to which
distance on the P.A.
prior to the ride. Those
are about the only
things I thought could
be improved on and they
are really minor nits.
All in all, it was well
put on and I would
recommend it to my
friends who ride.
GREAT JOB!
